Anne Elizabeth Hart

Anne Elizabeth Hart, 85, of Rutland, VT died December 24, 2010 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center. She was born August 19, 1925, in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of Verne Wayne and Margaret Jean (MacGillivray) Green.

Anne graduated from Rutland High School in 1943 and from the NE School of Art & Design in Boston, MA, in 1947.

During her high school years, she met her future husband and fellow Rutlander, Ken Hart, whom she married November 1, 1947.

A 72-year member of Grace Congregational UCC, she served on the diaconate, flower committee , taught Sunday school and she and Laura Bailey were co-founders of the Grace Church Prayer group.

An avid painter, she loved working with watercolor and oil, enjoyed gardening, reading, playing bridge and creating enamel on copper jewelry. She loved her animals, especially cats; trips abroad to Scotland and England and the many family trips to the coast of Maine. Her happiest moments were spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Family members include her husband, Kenneth N. Hrt of Rutland; children, Jody K. Hart Guimond (Bob) of Rutland and Claremont, NH, Margo MacDonald (Gary) of Clarendon Springs and Brad Hart (Jennifer) of Rutland; grandchildren, Emily A. MacDonald, Jessica L. MacDonald, James MacDonald, Samantha J. Hart, Katie L. Guimond and Mo L. Guimond; a step-sister, Carol Vanderpol (Jim) of Plaistow, NH; and several nieces, nephews and cousins, 

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1 PM in Grace Congregational UCC, with the Rev. John C. Weatherhogg, senior minister, officiating.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010, from 2-4 PM in Tossing Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
