Christa Jennifer (Harris) Ernst, 56, of Brandon, VT died May 29, 2026 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center, after a battle with cancer. She was born in Rutland, VT on May 6, 1970, the daughter of Dale A. Harris and Nancy (Champine) Oakes.

On November 7, 1998, she married Christopher Ernst.

An avid seamstress, Christa also enjoyed working on puzzles.

Survivors include her mother, Nancy Oakes of Rutland, VT; her husband, Christopher Ernst of Brandon, VT; two sons, Jacob Mark Ernst of Brandon, VT and Zachary Harris Ernst of Rutland, VT; two sisters, Carla Terriault (Don) and Chara Cooley, both of Rutland; brother-in-law, Todd Cooley of Brandon, VT; sister-in-law, Constance Shapter of LaQuinta, CA; and her best friend, Stacey Lee of Granville, NY.

She was predeceased by her father on May 3, 2026.

The private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
