Dr. Jeffrey V. Freeman, 91, of Rutland Town, VT passed away on April 19, 2026, at home.

He attended Bates College, where he met his wife to be, Carol, and was a graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He earned his doctorate degree in entomology at Rutgers University. He was a member of Lee Lodge #30 in Castleton.

A 49-year member of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, he enjoyed being involved with the maintenance of the church building and knew it well from the basement to the top of the steeple.

In 1956, he and Carol were married and he was a wonderful father to sons, Eric (Kristin) and Walter. He treasured his three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
