After her divorce, she went to work at Rutland Regional Medical Center in the Human Resources department, retiring in 2000. She stayed in touch with many fellow retirees, enjoying the “lunch bunch”.

A 44-year member of Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, she was involved in Fortnightly and Women's Ministries.

She was active in Bone Builders, yoga, Poultney Woman’s Club, and retired after 35 years as a volunteer at the Castleton Free Library. She was an avid reader, and delighted in following the activities of her grandchildren.
