Thomas Henry Allen

Thomas Henry Allen, of Rutland Town, VT passed away at the UVM Medical Center on March 11, 2026. He was born in Rutland, VT on December 08, 1946, the fourth child of Rita (Bachand) and Henry Allen and grew up in Shrewsbury and Rutland,VT.

A graduate of Barstow Grade School and MSJ Academy, he then in June of 1964, enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War from Sept.1964-Dec.1967.His Basic Training was in Great Lakes, Michigan and he trained as a Radioman on the USS Enterprise (CVA-62).

Tom was a machinist at Mal-Tool and GE Aviation, and retired in 2010. He loved to read, followed Nascar Racing throughout the season and watched many Civil War documentaries.

Survivors include his wife, Bev Adams-Allen of Rutland, VT; two daughters, Robin Kalka (John) of California, MD and Laura (Barnes) Noel of Proctor, VT three stepdaughters, Shannon McIntyre-Swane of Rutland, VT Sherri McIntyre of S.C. and Bobbi Sherwood-LaPierre of South Royalton, VT; sisters, Virginia Allen of Proctor,VT, Alice Spencer of North Clarendon, VT and Nancy Rubadeau (Richard)of E. Dorset,VT; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nephew, Allen Spencer and Uncle Kenneth Allen.

Military services will be held on June 11, 2026, at 11am in Randolph Ctr, Vt. in the Chapel at the VT Veterans Memorial Cemetery and be entombed in the columbarium.

A “Celebration of Life” will follow at the VFW #648, 15 Wales St., Rutland, VT, from 1-4pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Center-Dialysis Unit at RRMC, 160 Allen St., Rutland, VT 05701, or the VFW, 15 Wales St., Rutland, VT 05701.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks to all the nurses who cared for Tom at RRMC.
