William Edwin Egner, Jr.

William Edwin Egner Jr, 86, of The Gables in Rutland Town, VT, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 22, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late William Egner Sr, and Mildred Egner.

Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy for three years. After receiving his honorable discharge he worked for Grumman for 38 years as a Program Manager. He loved being in the great outdoors spending time with his friends and family hiking, skiing, boating, fishing, and most of all home improvements.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Judith Egner; his two daughters, Cheryl Williams and husband, Guy of Wilbraham, MA and Karen Edwards and husband, Dwight of Bohemia, NY; and his four grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Brooke Darling, Laurel Edwards and Marissa Edwards. Bill is remembered by many friends and family who will deeply miss him.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10 AM in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 6 Church Hill Road, Rutland, VT 05701. The Rev. Patti Stratton, minister, will officiate.
